Can anyone recommend a good site in the very south of Cornwall. Never been to that area. Looking for a site with good showers and toilets and preferrably near the beach. It would be good if there was reasonably good cycling from the area (easy). Quiter the area the better as thinking of going in July/August time.

Many thanks

Furthest south you can get in the UK with a caravan is Henry's at the Lizard, but check recent reviews as I've not been there for many years (when it was known as Caerthillian Farm, if I remember correctly).

Or you could look at almost the most westerly site - Sennen Cove C&CC site.

Trethem Mill near St Mawes is lovely. Beautifully clean and quiet and very near lovely safe beaches and a short ferry ride from Falmouth

Hi I live in the south of Cornwall and we go to a lovely camp site called St Ives bay which is actually in Hayle. This has direct access to a lovely beach and the site is surrounded by sand dunes great for the kids to play in, it has an indoor pool, small shop two bars/restaurants at either end of the site. It is well suited to explore both ST Ives which is so picaresque and Penzance , Marazion and St Michaels mount ll not far away.

I love Tretham mill too, beautiful  area, and the site is  spotless, and very scenic, loved Falmouth. Its on the Roseland peninsular.

Little Trevothan Caravan and Camping Park just outside the small coastal village of Coverack is delightful. It's on the Lizard, so quite far south.

I have absolutely no reservation about recommending Globe Vale, Redruth. See HERE.

There are plenty of site further South, but the beauty of the site is that it is well located for visiting most of South Cornwall. About 4 miles from the nearest beach (Porthtowan) and the coast to coast cycle route passes within a stones throw of the site. There is a place locally you can hire cycles from if you don't want to take your own.

The site is on the outskirts of Redruth, close to the A30, but it might as well be in a different world - there is no suggestion of Redruth being close. Views over to St Agnes. No road noise whatsoever. Apart from the location to be able to get everywhere, supermarkets are less than 10 min. away in the car, Camping/Caravan shop for spares at Scorrier (under 10 min. away).

The site itself is immaculately kept, reasonably priced for Cornwall in the main holiday period. Toilets are clean and up-to-date. Site really well landscaped. It has a small bar on site where you can get pub style good value meals (not club style). There is an outdoor decking area by the pub where you can sit and have a drink and watch the kids on the well equipped play area, just accross the way.

You have a choice of full serviced pitches (with EHU and warer hook up and drainage). These fully serviced pitches are available on hardstanding and grass, according to your choice. They also have EHU only pitches. Paul & Louise are very welcoming and will do anything to help. The website is good but doesn't always do the site justice IMHO.

This has to be one of our favourite sites, so if you do decide to book for the the end of July, first half of August, do come and look us up. We're on pitch 3 - fully serviced.

Hi markh66, a quick reminder:

Important: When posting details of a camp site, please ensure you link to their UKCampsite.co.uk listing, not direct to their website, to enable reviews etc to be read and left!

I'd definitley recommend Henry's in Lizard Village (southern most point of the UK)- although check out the reviews as it may not be everyone's cup of tea (basic unisex facilities etc). There are some lovely walks & beaches & it's right in the nice little village with everything you'd want nearby. FAB.

Also Treen Farm, Porthcurno is nice - set a couple of fields back from the cliffs and it's just a short walk along the coast to Porthcurno beach which is lovely, also the Minack Theatre which is awesome to visit even without seeing a performance. Close to Lands End (although I wouldn't bother, too commercialised and Lizard point is far superior).

You could have a look at Lower Treave caravan site,a great site just off the main road between Penzance and Lands End.
