Well there is a few campsites with direct access to Loch Lomond. But at 24 miles long and 5 miles wide, perhaps you will be looking for something a might smaller!

Hi

St Neots C&CC, Bouroughbridge C&CC, Kingsbury Water Park C&CC (went on the canal - walked the canoe on trolley 5mins, there were lakes there but did not know if you could paddle them. Bellingham C&CC not been to this one yet.

Not sure if you are aware but to paddle on canals you need a license, this is included as part of membership of British Canoe Union

Tudor campsite at Slimbridge in Gloucestershire is right alongside the Sharpness to Gloucester Ship canal.

The Bridge House campsite at Lechlade in Gloucestershire is one field away from the river Thames...access carrying a canoe.

The Ship & Anchor Marina campsite near Arundel in West Sussex right alongside the river Arun

There are lots of others...if you do a search of sites with 'fishing' you will often come up with those alongside rivers, lakes and canals.

You also need one for the Thames obtainable from the Environment Agency or lock keepers. Licenses for short periods are available and don't cost much. It is possible other rivers require a licence too.

Was thinking of the National Watersports Centre, but noticed you are from Nottingham so you probably already know about it and may want to go a bit further afield.
