Well there is a few campsites with direct access to Loch Lomond. But at 24 miles long and 5 miles wide, perhaps you will be looking for something a might smaller!

St Neots C&CC, Bouroughbridge C&CC, Kingsbury Water Park C&CC (went on the canal - walked the canoe on trolley 5mins, there were lakes there but did not know if you could paddle them. Bellingham C&CC not been to this one yet.
Not sure if you are aware but to paddle on canals you need a license, this is included as part of membership of British Canoe Union

You also need one for the Thames obtainable from the Environment Agency or lock keepers. Licenses for short periods are available and don't cost much. It is possible other rivers require a licence too.

Was thinking of the National Watersports Centre, but noticed you are from Nottingham so you probably already know about it and may want to go a bit further afield.

Thank you all for your replys i will spend the next few days going through them. i think the next outing will be easter bank holiday weekend. need to check availibility at these sites.
