A friend stayed at" the quiet site"and loved our, not sure if that's too far for you.....they have a converted barn with great log fire in it..but it is definitely a quiet site :)

Scotgate is great - stayed there a fortnight ago - try to get pitched away from road as it is busy even tho it is B class, I should think Shoulthwaite and the others at Thirlmere will be noisy as they are quite close to  main Keswick to Ambleside road

Unfortunately Scotgate is fully booked, as are most of the others. Family concerns meant that we were not able to book earlier!!

We have a couple of "possibilities" and were hoping to book one tomorrow but Cary has just dislodged a tooth crown eating a toffee and so it now looks like we won't be leaving until she has visited the dentist on Monday - GROAN

Hi Everyone

Thanks for the advice.

I am typing this in the 'van at Kiln Hill Barn Cl, Bassenthwaite. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=11634 We arrived safely on Monday afternoon after Cary had visited the dentist to get her crown re-fixed!!!

Lovely views down the valley towards the Bassentwaite. A review will follow eventually.
