I'm looking to organise a weekend camp for a few friends, probably 3 families with 6 children in total but may have a few day visitors of the tent phobic variety. (3 adults and 4 children)
Please could any of you help, my requirements are thus:
Max 1 hour from Sandbach, Cheshire
Camp fires allowed
Space to play rounders, cricket, do treasure hunts etc
Loos and water supply (showers would be a bonus but frankly I'm happy to go ferral for a couple of days!!)
Quiet and safe (no main road, my youngest is only 4)
No clubhouse etc - the more basic the better but loos do need to be clean (I'm not that ferral!!)
Cheap (as chips!!)
Am I asking for the impossible???
Any ideas most gratefully received.
Thanks
Adrienne (fresh out of the shower!!)
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Not sure how far Dolgamedd is from you....it's about 20 mins past lake Bala. It's fabulous, camp fires on the river edge, which is still safe with little ones, space and peace :)
------------- Fab time in France again.... Roll on next year!
Thanks for that. I've had a look and it does look superb but the AA clocks it at just over 2hrs from Sandbach so too far for our meet, I have however added it to my virtual brochure as somewhere to consider with the family.
Try Middle Hills Farm near Matlock, I think it satisfies all your requirements. In particular it has a huge open field at the top suitable for sports games.
I live in Sandbach and can vouch for it being an hour (or maybe just over) away
