I have twins, and the four of us would like to go camping in April for their second birthday. We camped a lot last summer, but found busy / crowded places hard work as the bubbas wanted to be into everything!
I would love to know people's experiences of any truly spacious campsites out there.. We have an outwell glendale 5 and are not fussy - in fact we prefer the wilder side of things. Again, easier with the twins!

I am in kent, and am a teacher! so it is school holidays only now unfortunately.. But we are willing to travel a fair way. Especially if easter and summer. Shell island does look good and friends have enjoyed it there.

CS & CL's are small 5 pitch sites that are affiliated to Camping & Caravan Club or Caravan Club. They are often on farms / behind pubs/ in fields in the middle of nowhere - that sort of thing there should always be a Tap and a chemical emptying point. There doesnt have to be anything else but often there is. Each one is different and always spacious. Many years ago I stayed on one in Yorkshire that was on a farm, it had hookup and a games room had been set up in a barn. You do often need to have your own sanitation, but not always. Best to look at them and see what suits your requirements.

Have a look on Camp Site Search and select Club CL/CS along with your requirements for facilities etc., then eliminate the Caravan Club CLs (Certificated Locations) as these don't usually accept tents.
You may be able to join the C&CC on arrival at a CS.
There are a couple of sites in Pembrokeshire which specialise in a very limited number of "secluded" pitches, one even has what is described as a "hideaway" pitch.
I know of quite a few sites especially in Wales that are wild roomy and a little remote . Try searching round the Barnmouth Dolgellau area . I personally wouldn't go near Shell island at weekends and bank holidays.
