Looking around for a site situated within the new forest that will allow campfires but so far i have been having no luck.
We are a large group of between 12 - 20 people, that camp every year but this will be our first year going to the new forest, we like to have our campsites as wild as possible camping in or as close to the forest as we can get whilst having access to toilets and showers (no matter how basic) we like to keep ourselves to our selves and obviously with such a large group we can be noisy so we do like to hide away in a corner out of everyones way.
Campfires are a must have for us, it just wouldn't be camping without a fire to cook and sit around.

Sorry for the long list :) but if you have any suggestions for sites they would be greatly appreciated thanks.

There's a 'no fires allowed' policy in New Forest and BBQ s only allowed in certain areas. Having been yards away from a forest fire in New Forest I can understand.

No caravans, no advance booking, no late night music, no showers and about 20 miles from the New Forest, but might it be worth giving Steeple Leaze a call?

What about Hurst View in Lymington ? It's very much in the south of the area but you're near civilisation for food etc and they do allow camp fires.

I'm not sure about groups policy but there did seem to be no problem with people grouping together when we were there last.
