Hi everyone

I'm a newby camper this season (always been the outdoor type but now I've got 5 year old and hubby in tow)

Was wondering if anyone could help me with ideas for camping Northumberland way , preferably with easy access to sea fishing (or good river fishing) to keep hubby out of my hair.  Daughter wants to go to Harry Potter castle.   The sites Ive seen close to the beach are so close I'm bothered about wind etc.  I would prefer somewhere a bit 'safer'/sheltered so can book in advance and not be bothered about weather.   We aren't bothered about ents, bars or even what the facilities are like.  Just want somewher 'nice' to chill, walk, fish, daughter to play with other kids etc.

Cheers soooo much for help from anyone who replies. x

Springhill Farm - lovely clean site, small play area for your little one, close enough to the sea to see the Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle, but generally not too windy. Plenty of walks from site, and sea fishing for the hubby. A fab site to chill out on, my 3 kids and I love it there

Thanks so much Marilyn and Madmum!

I like the look of both of those but Springhill Farm looks great for what we want.  Thank you so much - it is on bookmarks and we are looking to go April or May.

Thanks again!!

Helen

Also have a look at Dunstan Hill CCC site. We had a really good week there and did the things you are looking at (apart from fishing).

Also Beadnell Bay C&CC site - right across the road from the beach, and walking distance to Beadnell for sea fishing (and the chippy!). I love it there - it's so unspoilt. There is a bit of road noise on the camp site though, unfortunately.

Beware - it can get very very windy on that stretch of coast! We've has our awning broken twice by gale force winds at Beadnell!
