The Caravan Club have several sites within walking distance of town centres. York, Thirsk, Woodstock, Melrose to name a few and there are some a bit further out from the centre of town but have a good bus service like Cambridge and Welwyn.

Ayr CC site is very close to town. Far enough away that it's lovely and quiet but close enough to walk. Lovely site. Moffat C&CC site advertises that it's close enough to easily walk in but haven't been to that one myself.

You are obviously new to UKCS and haven't found this page yet...welcome.
Double click anywhere on the map and it will show you all the campsites nearby. You can then decide which are nearest to the towns you want to visit and check out the reviews as well.

Scarborough, Keswick and Moffat C and CC sites are all easily walkable into town. Naburn Lock, near York has a bus that passes the gate into camp site.
