Hi. We have just bought our first touring caravan and looking for campsites that will allow more than two dogs as we wish to take our schnauzers with us. Can anyone help?

The Camping and Caravanning Club don't seem to specify a limit on Club Sites - "f. Pets
i) Pets are welcome on site but the Owners are responsible for the behaviour of their animals.
ii) We do not allow on site any breed of dog listed under the Dangerous Dogs act 1991.
iii) No animal is allowed to be loose on site and must be kept on a lead no longer than 2m.
iv) Proprietary pet cages are only allowed within the confines of the unit including an awning.
v) Pets should be exercised in the areas provided; where available or off site.
vi) Owners must ensure that their pets do not foul the site and are responsible for cleaning up after them.
vii) If it is deemed a pet is creating a nuisance or causing disturbance to others, their owner will be asked to remove them from site.
viii) With the exception of guide dogs, pets are not allowed in the toilet block or other buildings."
We were in Cornwall last year and the van in front had mum dog,dad dog and six four week old pups and the van next door had two rabbits complete with hutch.
Some sites we have visited with 3 border terriers:
Any Camping and caravanning clubs (no charge for dogs)
Any Caravan clubs (no charge for dogs)
Clippesby hall (charge for dogs)
Sherwood forest holiday park (charge for dogs)
Deers Glade (charge for dogs)
We are using the clubs more these days.
Its going to cost us £84 for one of the above (non club) sites for the dogs for a week on the pitch soon.
Would be great to hear of other sites that allow more than 2.

Warcombe Farm campsite North Devon must allow more than 2 - when we were there last June one family had 5 golden retrievers and were on a pitch right by what must be the best dog walk field we've ever come across (our 2 loved it). Pitches at the bottom of the site are a bit furher from loos but close to dog walk and quite sheltered by landscaping so easier to block off with windbreaks etc. if you want to shut things off for the dogs a bit. Fab loos/showers too.

Hi, we got 3 westies and have never really found a problem with sites accepting 3 dogs. There have only been 2 sites in Cumbria (both private sites) that have said No to 3 dogs irrespective of breed. We have toured Southern Ireland, Cotswolds, most of the Lakes and some parts of Scotland with no restrictions. Heading to Barnard Castle this weekend and then touring Skye, Glencoe, Oban, Loch Lomond etc in the summer with the dogs. Caravan holidays are ideal for animals. We have even been on a site where people have had cats, rabbits and even ferrets with them. Must admit that I gave the ferret caravan a wide berth though!
