just been browsing the cc website ,and it has a note posted on the brand new site at bridlington listing , as being partly flooded, and some campers may be turned away.

not good for a brand new site, looks like more drainage may be needed

It could be to do with the recent snowfall melting, and with the sharp drop in tempretures at night in the area, quite a few places that had turned their heating off in toliet blocks during the warmer spell the week before, have now been caught out with leaking toilets and burst pipes.

Even West Ayton CC site has been struggling with the effect of the weather on its grass pitches this week, I was talking to one of the wardens on Friday, and she said they were strugling to get enough pitches free to accomodate the bookings they were expecting this weekend, as some of the grass pitches had had to close due to waterlogging.

all grass pitches at west ayton were shut when we there 2 weeks ago and it had been very dry at that time. in fact ive only known grass pitches to be in use at peak times and summer months.

I was at the Brid site over Easter.

The lower section of the site by the entrance had approx 6 pitches closed due to localised flooding caused by the heavy rain and snow on the Tuesday before.

It was a bleak Wednesday when I arrived due to the rain ang high winds especially on the higher part of the site which appears to be on the hilltop, the camper was rocked around quite a bit due to the high winds and lack of mature trees/bushes .

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

no drought in the north only the southerners have it there again keilder rervoir feeds not only the tyne and the wear and the tees it also feeds yorkshire via a feed into the swale and therefore the north yorks basin unto the ouse

believe you me there is no drought problem in east yorks - my mum's drainage ditch is full and not far off flooding which given how big this ditch is is impressive!

At the end of the day sites are going to be waterlogged from time to time it doesn't matter how new they are.
