Hi all

Does anyone know where we could advertise our campsite for the use of rallies etc by members of Exempted organisations.

And does anybody on here do the same thing. We only open for 28 days a year under planning regulations but I believe clubs/members of exempted organisations can use our field without it affecting the 28 days.

Thank you.

So any of these organisations that were holding a rally on your campsite outwith the times that your site is oficially open for normal camping, would also have to have their own insurance to cover them while they stayed there?

Get in touch with the CSMA at their Head Office at Brighton, as they are always looking for rally sites and CL's.

Thanks Llani. Will do.

Lobey

We have public liability which covers the whole year  but I would imagine most of the clubs would have their own insurance anyway.

May I ask why you have such a restrictive planning requirement imposed on your campsite? Have you thought about operating as a CL or CS or both where the planning restriction would not apply. If you could divided the area by two you could have a Caravan Club CL for 5 vans and a Camping and Caravan Club CS for 5 vans and I believe up to 10 tents, this could be a way of circumnavigating the planning rules.

David

Tried and failed through CCC due to neighbours
complaint. He moans at everything.
So just run it under 28 day rule. Might try for planning
in the future. Access road not suitable for caravans so do tents
only. We have 13 acres in total but just open the one for camping as it's the most level one. Have had so many enquiries which I have to turn away as just think it's best to have the 28 days during the summer.

There is an Association of Caravan and Camping Exempted Organisations (see Google) whose contact details are available on their website (which seems to be rather restricted at the moment).

Yes, I have seen their website. Think they are more to do with giving clubs exemption certificates in the first place, but I will contact them when .

Thank you

Will the neighbour be counting the days in use.  If not stretch it.  It doesn't say they have to be consecutive.  Or play dumb and quote the no more than 28 days consecutive camping for any one camper.

28 days=  Friday and Saturday night camper to leave Sunday.  14 weekends during the summer period.  Make it an offer   Campers can stay until sunset on Sunday. Most weekenders  will be over the moon with an offer like that.   In a field for 3 days for the price of two.  Your benefit will be empty field on Sunday night.  Ya boo sucks to the neighbour.

Knowing him yes as he wrote to the council
saying we had breached planning .
They came out but were happy we hadn't
and wrote to him saying that.
The stupid thing is you can hardly see his house
from the field!! We don't get busy so we
let people leave and arrive pretty much when
they like anyway.
