Hi Guys

We got the camping bug about two years ago and have since found the prices of the camp sites rocketing! I just wondered if anyone knew of any "old fashioned, great value for money" sites? I was thinking of less than £10 per night? We are not fussed on having entertainment or showers but a toilet would be nice!

Thanks

Kirsty

Join the camping and caravanning club and use their CSs (certificated sites). some next to pubs, some have showers and washing up facilities, some don't. But 1500 in England alone!
We are usually the only tent and often the only people!

I think it all depends on how many of you are camping with the above site and obviously your location and how far you are willing to travel. My childhood site which was our first camp last year and will no doubt be using again for a couple of short breaks again is North Denes (see my reviews) as it only costs £10 a night + £5 electric regardless of people in tent. Not a lot there but the toilets & shower are freshly refurbed & clean and thre is a beach, pub and only a short walk to the chip shop (although you will need to know where it is before you go to find it).

One of our favourite basic campsites is in Happisburgh, Norfolk, Manor Caravan Park - last year it was £12 for four people in a tent, has showers & toilets although they are basic, pub at the entrance and is on the cliff top

I say also look at the small cs sites, some of them are lovely and very quiet

Visit Llandrindod Wells! Great scenery, walks, cycling, red kites. Ideal for exploring Mid Wales.

Is that Swindon, Wiltshire? If so, have a look at Warren Farm in Brean. It's £8 in low season and £11 in mid with £3 per night for EHU if you need it. It's on our "to visit" list as Brean is only just over an hour's tow for us.

We've just joined the C&CC and are looking for some good CS's (certificated sites) but most of the ones I like seem to be around £15 with EHU.

If you find anything for around £10 with EHU be sure to post!
