We are planning to tour Scotland in August. We have a caravan there is only 2 of us. We are planning touring scotland in a sort of clockwise tour. Can anyone recommend a few sites ( 5 or 6 ) would be ideal for this journey.
Thanks

My favourite area in the Highlands is Lochalsh/Skye/Plockton and we return year after year.

We're also doing a tour in September.  Driving up from Devon, our first stop in Scotland is Bunree CC site near Fort William and then we're moving onto Morvich CC site near Lochalsh - both sites in stunning scenery and recommended. We then plan to go up around the coast (Ullapool direction) and back down (other sites not chosen yet!) You would need to book very early for Bunree though, we booked in January.

I can recommend Caolasnacon Caravan and Camping Park near Glencoe, Kinloch Campsite on Skye and Loch Ness Holiday Park, all of which have stunning water frontage.

Also look at the Caravan club site in Edinburgh, if you are a member.

Have a great time, we did.

Others will recommend west coast sites so I'll suggest some east coast ones ....

Silverbank Caravan Club Site at Banchory on Royal Deeside - handy for Aberdeen and Balmoral.

Lochside CC site at Forfar - great for Dundee, Aberdeen isn't too far, east coast resorts eg Carnoustie, Glamis Castle

Balbirnie Park CC site at Markinch in Fife - handy for most of central Scotland including Edinburgh.

Edinburgh CC site - excellent site, especially good if you want to spend a lot of time in Edinburgh.

Yellowcraigs CC site at Dirleton near North Berwck - great location, handy for Edinburgh and set in the heart of East Lothian.

Faichmard Farm at Invergarry is an excellent site, adults only and is a good stopping place towards Skye if you're heading that way.

Rosemarkie (C&CC site) - worth it for the dolphins alone!
(and as it's on the East side - less midgies!!)

A couple from me.

Grumore CC site - even better if you go non hook up right by the Loch. Stunning.

Muasdale - on Kintyre. One of my favourites.

The CC site near Brora is good too. Golf and a lovely beach walk into Brora. The Hotels whiskey menu is excellent pages of different whisky's to try.
