Depends what you want fron the site.  Just use UKCS's excellent mapsearch facility and consult the reviews.

Generally, Edinburgh sites and public transport for visiting city centre are very good indeed.

What sort of outfit do you have? We have stayed at Mortonhall and the Caravan Club site on visits to Edinburgh. There are bound to be reviews on here.

Just over 7.5 miles to the zoo from Mortonhall. We were there a few weeks ago, excellent site. We will return.

 I would also reccomend Linwater which is near to Edinburgh and there is a park + ride quite close which i think is easier to use the buses than drive in the city.

what about drumhor on the east side of edinburgh? we have stayed there & it is great.

or stay at melrose & visit the scottish borders at the same time

I would recommend Linwater, it is very handy for the Park and Ride near the Airport which stops right outside the Zoo
