Cheers Ratty
My OH & I have just come back from a day visit to the Camping, Caravan & Boat Show at Billing Aquadrome, Northamptonshire. We paid £30 entry for the two of us. I was shocked one stall with camping & caravan equipment, 2 caravans, 1 stall with fold up boats. It was small, mainly motorhomes. Several of the stall holders were talking to us & the handful of others at the show and were really fed up, one even apologised to us. Another told us they had paid £600 for the pitch and so far today had taken £9:99. I was so cross I went to see the organisers; Active promotions & asked why it had been promoted as a Camping, Caravan and Boat show when it wasn't. Her reply was that a lot of stall holders had pulled out because of the problems this last week over the flooding. I said fair enough but why not reduce the price then from £15 per person to perhaps that for two people.I paid less for the NEC and there was 10 times the space. She said well it's the first day & I pointed out that of the 3 days of the show today had the best forecast and were then any more stalls etc likely to be there tomorrow & she said no. No offer of a refund nothing. If you were thinking of going, don't unless of course you want to buy a motor home!
The donut stall was good though!
At least being local we didn't spend a lot on fuel.
£30 for that is an insult and in my book a big rip off!
Nick600 I hope you had a good camp though!
