Hi, does anyone know of campsite on the East side of Scotland (from Edinburgh to Inverness) that won't be a mudbath this weekend?  Desperate to get out for the first time this year, but all of our usual places are, unfortunately, prone to either out-and-out flooding or just turning into a quagmire.  I need somewhere with well-drained tent pitches within 3 hours of Aberdeen...  (oh, and that has EHU, takes large tents, preferably with a wee playground or other child-friendliness and isn't costing £30 a night!!!!)

Fingers crossed someone can help...

We are heading to Scone this Friday until Monday.  Cant promise decent weather but hopefully everthing will have dried out by then.  I know they take large tents and provide EHU pitches. 

Another nice site not too far from Aberdeen is Glenesk.  We went last year and the weekend was a washout but our pitches had good drainage.

Thanks for those!  Both are a bit TOO close to home for us normally, but I have friends who a) have been wanting to try camping for a while now and b) are a bit wussy!  Trying one night at either of those places should be a perfect intro for them

On the bright side, did a ring around on the offchance I might get lucky, and our favourite Edinburgh site (Linwater) hasn't had the constant rain the rest of us have.  Given the temperature forecast, we're only going away one night, but at least we'll finally have camped in 2012!!!

not been to much rain here, i live about 10 mins from linwater.
