Depends what you want Julie.
Have to agree with Botty, Willowbank is a lovely spot and fairly quiet though there is a little road noise and small light aircraft flying nearby with the small training airfield next door. You are straight out onto the main road and it's 35 mins to Liverpool in one direction or 15 mins into Southport.
Riverside seems to get very mixed reviews. It may be that the statics area is good, but friends with a tourer who used it weren't impressed. It's on the northern side of Southport on the road to Preston. Always seems to be plenty of traffic up there as I go past.
There is a big club on site that attracts all the Line dancers, so it really does depend on what you are looking for.
There are a few other smaller 'static settlements' about,
mostly on the Lancashire side of the border.

they can do what they want put prices up change the site rules and you always lose with a static a lot of money just do your home work before you buy

My advise would be to visit the area you fancy and visit as many parks as possible to see which one suits you. Then if its possible hire one on site for a couple of days and see if it is what you want. Then when you have found the site, then see what is for sale and ask as many questions as you can think of, talk to other owners and visit all the caravans for sale on the park. Take your time before you buy, then you wont be disappointed.

We have had owners on our park who were here 30 years! and still loved coming regularly to the site, they only gave up their caravan because of ill health. Others often stay 10/12 years and then fancy a change or give up entirely.

But dont forget to talk to the owners & site owner and find out as much as possible before buying.

We have a static on this site and have to leave this year.It is a nice site but the wardens keep changing and you do need to be mindful of the rules.Site fees are half what Riverside charge but there is a smaller site next to Riverside which is adults only. The beauty of this site and Riverside is that once your van is on there are no time limits to get it off but you do pay twice as much as Willowbank. You can buy a second hand ststic for about £15k which is the cheapest and you can only keep it on site until it's 15 years old.Buy a new one and its 20 years. They will ask you what your budget is though so be careful.

yes they got you where they want you these site owners and if you want to sell back to them they offer you peanuts better of buying a touring caravan and site it on a site least when you have had enough you can tow it where you want it but you cant move a static when you want

and other site owners want you to buy of them because of the commsion they get

always check on there rules an regulations
