We stayed at Dower House for 3 nights last summer hols. It's a lovely site, I have 3 boys & yours will be happy if they like their ball games & swimming!
I have to say (you did ask for opinions!) that I wouldn't have liked being on the big field. We were put in one of the 'lanes' just before the field & it was just lovely, a bit like a cul de sac backing onto the woods! The tent field just seemed to get busier & busier & looked ever so crowded.
Might be worth a call requesting a pitch elsewhere, if they can't do it then don't worry too much, am sure you'll still have a lovely time as it's a very nice site - in the middle of nowhere tho so take provisions!
------------- 2012
June - Swiss Farm, Henley
July: Heathland Beach, Suffolk
July: Clippesby, Norfolk
August: Lincoln Farm Park, Oxfordshire
August: Trevella Park, Newquay
I should add, we must have quite similar tastes in campsites, as well as the Dower House you also have 2 sites (Inside Park & Chestnut Meadow) which are on my 'to do' shortlist :-)

how freaky lol! thanks for the advice, are the nice pitches you described with EHU and have good sunshine into the evening or are they shaded?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Yes def with EHU, can't remember whether we had evening or morning sun where we were, but you should be able to request either as they had pitches that faced in different directions IYSWIM.
