Hi

Has anyone stayed at Wasdale in Cumbria recently.  I know I live in Cumbria but wanting to walk a few north fells including Scarfell and was wondering about stopping up north a few nights rather than do the drive each day.

Info states cars not allowed on site. Bit puzzled as it says trailers also have to be handed onto site.  Do you have to lug stuff from car or can you park on pitch whilst loading and unloading.

Is that the National Trust site? Never stayed at that one but we stayed at the site in Nether Wasdale called Church Stile last year.

Why don't you give them a ring and ask them about cars on the site.

Not Wasdale but the C&CC site at Eskdale is a gem and not that far from Scafell and in fact next fell over from Wastwater. Check out the reviews and you will see what I mean. Site is virtually tent only as no caravans allowed (just small motor homes).

The village of Boot is a short walk and has a couple of great pubs for food. Boot to Ravenglass steam railway is great and fun.

It's a National trust site policy and to be honest unless you have a Massive tent and gear it's not a big issue . I haven't stayed at Wasdale for years but we have stayed at langdale and lowray NT sites and your car isn't that far away usually .
