Hi ive booked to go to Pentewan sands with my son and wanted to know what the shower facilities were like, are they mixed or seperate? or do they have any family bathrooms?
My son was 10yrs old last month so is too old to come in the ladies with me yet he hasn't got the confidence to go off to the men's for a shower on his own, he's fine using the toilets as it's quickly in and out just the shower is a problem

Why not call them and ask? looks a lovely site but the price put me off when looking at Cornwall, £49 a night for us (2 adults & 3 kids) in August! OK where we're going hasn't got all the facilities but at a saving of £31 a night we should be able to do more in the long run as plans are to sight see.
Several posters comment about the need to repeatedly switch on the showers, and and one or two about their being too hot or cold, but Hayleyw27 mentions (on page 5 of the reviews) the availability of a private bathroom.
As Tynxuk suggests, use the Contact Us button on their website to clarify.
I did look through a few reviews but didn't see anything about family bathrooms, just thought someone on here may have been. I'll drop them an email just so we know what to expect otherwise I guess he will just have to jump in the sea with a bar of soap

Hi tas when are you going to pentewan sands as we are there in August
------------- April Peak District Beech Croft Farm
May Peak District Duke of York
May Holland Delfse Hout
June Cotton Arms Nantwich
july/aug Cornwall Pentewan Sands
And quite a few local weekenders
We stay at the sister site Heligan Gardens and are given a gate pass for Pentewan so guess it works back the other way so you could come up and visit Heligan. The facilities are excellent at Heligan with plentiful hot water and a family bathroom if you fancy a long soak
We found Pentewan to just be too big and too commercialised but it does have the bonus of being sited right on a very beautiful beach. We are off to Heligan in August for a week then off to Damage Barton for a week and yes Heligan was expensive compared to the Devon site but we can't fault it for facilities, peace and quiet, lovely little shop with freshly baked bread in the mornings and good sized pitches.
I emailed a few questions to the site and this is the reply
In reply, the shower facilities are separate or male and females. We do have a family bathroom which is £3.00 for 1 hour and £1.00 deposit on the key and is bookable in Reception. The TV reception isn’t great here as we are located in a valley but if you have a boaster or satellite that will help with the picture. In regard with WIFI we do have it in the Seahorse and the charge is £1.00 for ½ hour, £2.00 for 1 hour and £3.00 for 2hours.
I think its a bit steep to charge £3 hr for a family bathroom
I would choose a "quiet" time, take him into the ladies, show him the shower, how it works etc, and encourage him to go off into the gents on his own. Promise to wait just outside within shouting distance the first time.I found with boys its usually only the fear of the unknown ie not like the home shower.
------------- I,d live life in the fast lane but, i,m married to a speed bump.
Thanks IanH thats good to know about the tv reception, I know its not everyones "cup of tea" but I like a bit of telly on an evening
Merlina40 thanks for your help and you are right about boys, mine is a typical boy who hates the unknown.
Luckily I have talked my parents into coming with us and they have now hired a caravan, so Grandad will sort him out with showers in return for a morning bacon butty
