We are going from Manchester to Folkestone and want to stop bout half way for an overnight stop.
any suggestions. ? Maybe Oxford area

Are you members of any of the clubs and what facilities do you need? 

You could try Cavesholme CL site at Brackley, close to the A43.

Or Godwins Ice cream farm at Bicester.

I was going to suggest Godwin's, there is also Peach Croft farm at Abingdon.

Lincoln Farm Park is AMAZING!  You can catch a bus right outside the site that takes you into Oxford!

Depends what the OP wants, Peach Croft is cheap, or was, also has facilities and easy to get to from the A34. Godwin's is even easier.
