I'm looking to spend a couple of weeks down in Norfolk this summer. I'm trying to find a site as near to Norwich as possible, but which has a fishing lake on site.

High qualitiy shower and toilet blocks are also a necessity.

Could anyone recommend a site that would suit our needs?

C&CC site is in Norwich and has fishing in the river that flows past the site. I don't think you will find anything closer to the city centre as it is walking distance.

HI Birder99. Thanks for the information. I'm specifically looking for still water fishing - so am looking for a site with a lake, rather than the river.

The nearest ones, with lakes, that I know are both about 15 - 20 miles from Norwich - they are Deers Glade and Honeypot

I was going to suggest Deers Glade too,a lovely site with very good facilities,  not a lot actually in Norwich

There are a couple of sites in Marlingford, one a CL  the other is called Swans Harbour, not sure if Swans harbour has it's own lake but there are fishing lakes very nearby called Barford Lakes. there is also a Caravan Club site very close to the Royal Norfolk Showground this is virtually opposite the Costessey park and ride which go's straight into Norwich, there are also lakes very near to this site ( Bawburgh Lakes), there is also Taverham lakes/pits not to far away  but I'am not sure if they do camping there now, again right near this is Costessey Pits, I think you need permits for most of these but I'am sure that they all do day permits, there are plenty of fishing lakes  in the area but not many camp sites, Costessey, Bawburgh, Taverham etc are all around 3 - 5 miles from the city

Caravan Club Site at Costessy has been closed for a couple of years. Try looking at Haveringland, not too handy for Norwich but only short journey to park and ride.

oh dear, it's only up the road from me and I never knew it had shut. as for Havringland I don't think they have tourers or camping there now either  think they have gone the static route,

I've been to Swans Harbour and it does not have a fishing lake, just a small access to the river.
