We have a chance to get away for a couple of nights next week to meet up with friends near keswick but everywhere seems to be full. I ve searched both Club websites and all the ones mentioned on ukcampsites via a search under Keswick bit no luck so far.
Any suggestions welcome (including " forget it-youve left it too late")
Thx
Paul

Hi Paul,
I know you said you wanted to be near Keswick but looking at the availibility calendar there is a caravan site with availabilty called Westmorland Caravan Park near Penrith.
Hope this helps
I hope you manage to find something
------------- Camping trips for 2013...
*May half term, 5 nights - Black Bull Caravan Park, Pickering
*July/August 13 nights - Invercoe, Scotland
*October half term 6 nights - Beech Croft Farm, Buxton
Ringing the campsite is also worth a try. The C & CC site at Keswick is a fab location (when it doesn't flood) and we got in last year by ringing the wardens direct. You never know, you might get a cancellation.
Did you try Scotgate at Braithwaite, its just outside Keswick but within walking distance, stayed there many times in the past but it was always just turn up and see if any space as they didn't take bookings then, It's a nice site with a shop/cafe on site and pub a few yards up the road
------------- here today , where tomorrow?
yet another full timer,
Might be full but Lanefoot Farm is also very nice, other than that try the cl's, surely there must be a pitch somewhere!
You don't say what day you want to go but you could always have a ring round the afternoon before you are due to go in case somewhere has had a late cancellation or no show. The Caravan Club sites are notorious for it because they don't ask for deposits and their Troutbeck Head site is in the North Lakes, it's 11 miles from Keswick but straight down the A66 so only takes 15 minutes.
Thanks for all your wonderful advice . I ve managed to get the tues and weds at troutbeck and i ve got fingers crossed for getting a space for Monday. The help on this forum to us newbies is fantastic.
