Another vote for Houghton Mill! We take ours there as you can launch form the mill pond and there's many an hour can be spent paddling round the area on the river and its tributaries. Noseying at the big houses with private moorings is a must! We have been able to see loads of wildlife as you can be really quiet. We have seen Herons up close, pike, kingfishers and we have spent ages watching some very young ducklings with their mum!

You can paddle up to St Ives as a previous poster has mentioned. There's Battcocks Island to paddle around too- reminds you of the Famous Five island!- was that Kirren Island??

Also you can paddle around Hemmingfords meadow but you will need to get out at a couple of points I believe... once to avoid the lock and I think the other time maybe at Huntingdon end of Hemmingfords meadow.

Abersoch would be a great coastal site, and a very safe bay for kayaking ( they rent them out on the beach)
