Hi to all those who are able to read this and help,
Im looking to take the family camping tomorrow - in Cheshire/ Merseyside/Lancs - ie not too far away from Manchester airport as have to go there midweek and pick a daughter up.
My problem is this - there are 9 of us camping and as a pitch is generally 2A & 2C + extras per night - can end up NOT a cheap holiday afterall, plus seems a lot of sites charge £1 for a shower - and kids get pretty grubby camping!
Combined with the fact that we now have a doggy that we'd like to take (ANNDD IFFF at all possible camp somewhere that allows real campfires) does ANYONE have a clue WHERE to camp???
All suggestions and help GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!
Regards

How about a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, such as this one, for example, though a bit outside your area and you would need to take account of the cost of joining the Club (currently £40 pa by dd) if you're not already a member.
What about Beech Croft Farm it's in the Peak District so not an area you specified but it's only 50 min drive from Manchester Airport. We stayed here last weekend and its a lovely site. The showers are free and they also don't charge extra for dogs and children under 5
Wherever you decide to go, you might want to ring up and make sure they have space - I know lots of campsites are booked up for this weekend, would hate you to have a wasted trip.

I emailed Lady Hayes earlier in the week - they said they were fully booked!
I am sorted now though - at least for the weekend.
Everything else will depend on the weather!
