Please can you help me. My wife is recovering from a serious long illness. We purchased a 21ft Motorhome so we could get out and about. I love fishing. Does any members no of any sites that actually has has fishing pitches next or a least very close to lakes or rivers. I am deeply anxious to keep an eye out for my wife. we have two way radios but if I could be close or at least see the van from the fishing peg that would be great.
Kind Regards
------------- It's nice to be important. But its more important to be nice.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
We went to a Camping & Caravanning CL site in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire where there was a big pond only yards away from the grass pitches and although there's no electric hook up it was a haven for fishermen but apparently there have been no further reviews since mine.
we have a disabled son who loves to fish but also likes not to be too far away from our motorhome, if you look on my profile most of the sites reviewed have fishing which is next to or very close to a lake. I do have a couple of "secret ones" which I dont want to review incase other people go and then they would not be our quiet haven .
You could try Lindholme Lakes near Doncaster. Some of the best fishing in the land and a good choice of lakes. Bonsai lake is very close to the camping and you would be able to see the van from most of the pegs, although it does have matches on it several days a week. Most of the lakesare within a couple of minutes walk from the campsite and tackle shop. This is the review of my visit back in March, although I can't guarantee you the same weather!!http://www.maggotdrowning.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=140604

if you fancy north wales, try Llyn Y Gors, they have camping, and one of their lakes is within 20 feet of camping area.not far from Beumaris, nice area to visit as well.
Lakeside in Lincolnshire has its own on site fishing lakes just a couple of mins walk from your pitch, with an ajacent carpark for your motorhome if needs be, or Broadlands CC site is just 100yds from the riverbank at Ludham bridge, and easily walkable to and from site, again with a small bankside carpark that would take a smallish motorhome, as long as you patronise the shop that it belongs to.

Celebrating 37 years of Caravanning in 2019, Recently Considered Retiring, but Totally Addicted for Life!
we have been to wagtail park which is a new site near york. the fishing lake is on site. it is small and quiet and the owner can not do enough for you. have a look at the reviews. Deers glade in norfolk is a fab site again with a fishing lake and mill park in devon has a fishing lake on site too. i notice you live in south yorkshire so it depends how far you want to travel. good luck with your search.

It's a very basic site but one of our favourites. Listed in the CC book cls under Stratford on Avon in the name of Bluck . It is adjacent to the river, has fishing stands on the river bank, motorhomes can frequently be found parked right next to the river. Fall out of the. An onto your fishing stool. If the battery runs down take it round to the barn ( no need to ask ) and connect it to Richards charger and plug in. There are shops in Welford that cover everything you might need that are half a mile across the fields. There is a cycle path right past the gate that takes you all the way into Stratford if you want that, and it is a level ride. He has a farm shop with fresh veg in, just go in weigh what you want and leave the money in the box. Oh yes and the best bit it is just £5 a night, beautifully quiet and peaceful.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
There's a fishing pool at Newberry Valley in Devon, if you explain that you need to be in eyesight of the pool they'll give you one of the pitches that overlook the pool.
