Rempstone Steam Rally had a Country music section a couple of years ago, where caravans were welcome, and some local artists entertained around the beer tent area during the afternoon and early evening.
The best one we ever went to was organised by the Derbyshire D.A of the caravan club, and held out in a field at Parwich, Derbyshire about 10 yrs ago.
They had some really top acts and tallented musicians who used a large curtain sided lorry trailer as a stage, whilst a tempory auditorium was built out of hay bales curtosy of the local farmer.
It was a brilliant midsummers night sitting out under the stars, with a great atmosphere, but was never repeated due to a few reasons, the sad death the following year of its orgainser and social secretary, Fudge Bell, a lovely man who worked tirelessly to bring the rally members some wonderful rallies in great locations which would not otherwise been open to the public. Also because of local complaints in the village regarding noise levels from the event, and finally because some members attending at the time refused to pay the £10 entertainment fee on top of the usual rally fee that was needed to pay for the acts, which resulted in the event running a a large financial loss, and so was never repeated.
