We are planning a week's camping trip in august, and this will be our 1st camping  trip since our daughter was born, who will be 6 months when we go. We also have a 7 year old son, too

We are looking for a campsite that is baby/child friendly, not necessarily with a playground to occupy the older one.

We have looked at the Crow's Nest nr Filey - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=3598  but some of the reviews are putting me off slightly.

Has anyone got any other recommendations from campsites between York and the Coast, and as far up as the North Yorks Moors.

We have just had a week and also atayed for a long weekend at The Blackbull at Pickering this year. We have stayed there several times over the past few years and its a great site. I would recomend pitch 65, 64 or 63 as these are very close to the play park 65 being next to it, also closest to the facilities. Plus you get the early morning sun, and it stays at least till 5-6pm. We love this site the wardens are great and the facilites are brilliant.

Always been a favorite of ours when our son was younger.

Another site we love is Wolds Way, fab toilets and showers, they even have a bath which is great when you have kids. The kids will love the animals on the farm as well. You will love the fantastic views, great sitting with a glass of wine when the kids are in bed.

Hi angel1974

We went to Jacobs Mount over the May Bank Holdiay with my daughter, Son in law and Grandson (Aged 3)

We found this site to be clean, quiet and very friendly  .

There are two  play areas, the clubhouse is child friendly and meals reasonably priced.Recomend a visit to playdale farm at Cayton Village.

I have to agree with with Travel Bug, Wolds Way is fantastic. The kids love the animals and the owners are really friendly. The site is close to both Scarborough and Filey.

We have also stayed a the Vale of Pickering which is only a few miles away. Its okay but it would be Wolds Way for me.

We've just been to Humble Bee Farm near Filey with our baby and older son and would recommend it. Older son loved the nice wooden playground and seeing the chickens, goats etc. There's a family bathroom with a shower and loo inside and a baby changing pull-down thingie. I also liked that you don't need money for the showers - I find there's enough to plan and organise when out and about with children without faffing about with certain change for the shower. It felt a very family-orientated place too - children are made to feel welcome.

Jasmine Park at Snainton is lovely, midway between Pickering and Scarborough.

May i ask which reviews are putting you off our park slightly? Obviously we did get negative comments re. the old toilet block which has now been demolished, the reviews from this year are pretty good i think. We have invested and improved the park over the winter, and a lot of the negative comments we used to receive simply do not exist any more.

Have a look at Studfold Farm. We went about three years ago with four kids from 4 to 12 years of age and all loved it. Space for them to play and explore, excellent facilites, beautifully scenic setting but no playground or club house - precisely the sort of campsite we all appreciate.

  Hi angel1974

Thinking about your needs for a small quite site for a baby and a 7 year old, I would suggest Wyse House.  Its a small site that although doesn't have a play area, has a playhouse and a trampoline in the ground.  The bathroom's are family sized (And I mean family sized) and ideal for coping with a 7 year old in the shower whilst you're looking after baby.

Its down a quite lane near Eden Camp and is close to Malton, but handy for both York and the East coast.

Good Luck in finding somewhere, although there have been some good suggestions already.

  Best wishes Sam
