A lot of the pitches at the top end of the site are in enclaves among trees/ bushes etc.

The lower end of the site is probably your best bet.

Pitch numbers 29 -94. Called the Lawns, the Shelf, Touchstone and Elkes meadow.

These are a mixture of hardstanding and grasss pitches in a more open area that gets the sun all day long.

A lot of the pitches are in smaller enclosures surrounded by trees and bushes which will provide shade at varying times during the day.

At the bottom end of the site both Touchstone ans The Shelf have an open aspect so catch more sunshine for more of the day.  Touchstone is slightly sloping though, so you'll need levelling blocks.

Thanks. Are the bottom pitches far from the toilet block? I can't really tell from the site plan, I am on crutches so don't want to be miles away

Ah!

You could have a problem the farthest pitches at the bottom are probably 300-400 yards from the toilet block. The nearest on the Shelf about two hundred yards.

The problem is there is a steady incline all the way from the bottom to the top of the site. The toilet block is a third of the way up and the wardens office another 100 yards or so. There are no pitches apart from a few terraced non electric pitches at the top of the site and all the other pitches are below the wardens office area.

Top of the site to bottom is approx 800 yards.

If you are on crutches I would suggest that Treamble Valley is perhaps not the best suited site for you.  As other have stated, it's on a fair old slope.

There are pitches directly opposite the toilet block, but these may be shaded.

Hi,

Phone the site direct at least two weeks before your arrival and let them know you are on crutches and would like to be pitched near to the facilities. They will do their best to accomodate you.The worst part of the slope on site is from the toilet block to reception, it certainly gets the heart beating!!

A grass pitch in Small Glen or Crantock get the sun and are a level walk to the toilet block.

Cheers,

CREAKY

At the end of July it will be very busy so the pitches that have been recommended may already be occupied when you get there anyway

They have several pitches fairly close to the toilet block reserved for disabled - don't know if your situation would qualify but worth a phone call.
