very nice, was there much in the way of midgies? Unfortunately they eat me alive
Unfortunately the midges came out as we were packing away. It's the first time they've actually bothered me. Definitely won't put me off going back there. It was well worth the 2 hour drive with a 12 and 2 yr old in the car. " how far now ? Are we there yet ? "
By the way. The nearest petrol station is only a couple of miles away.
It has ONE pump.
------------- September 27th. I'm going away. Don't care where. Just going!!!!

Well, we were up that way, camping at Ullapool, and decided to drive out towards your campsite yesterday. My goodness, Dave, that's a long, winding road to get to it! It's a good half hour from the main road along twisty single track roads which eventually come to a dead end if you go far enough. Lovely scenery though.
Hi Dave. Sorry, I meant 'your' campsite in the sense of 'your discovery', 'your favourite', the one you have been telling us about. I didn't mean to suggest it belongs to you!
We stayed at the Broomfield site in town. The idea was to get up to Durness but my daughter was busy till 3.30 on Friday so not a chance of getting that far north by evening. Ullapool is a lovely place to be anyway. No booking required at either Broomfield or Durness. I love that, as it leaves us free to turn up as we please.
There are one or two other lovely sites up that part of the north west coast, I believe.
