As I am 50 this year (yuck) I want to go with 2 friends in October to Cornwall. We would like to hire a static van to stay in.
Can anyone recommend a good area to stay that would serve as a good base to travel each day to somewhere different for days out.
We did intend on camping, but if this weather is anything to go it could be a miserable trip. So we are playing it safe.
We always went to Cornwall as a family when I was a child, so I want to visit Holywell Bay and Crantock, but would also like to do St.Ives and Padstow, maybe even Lands End.
Thanks Jane

OOHHH, weavers, I see it's right by Sennen Cove which is 1 of the places I would love to go to..
Many thanks for your reply, I am sort of reliving childhood memories during my 50th Birthday year !!! Mad I know but it's what I have been promising myself...

Thanks cat, I will have a look, we stayed at Crantock Bay Hotel when I was about 12/13, my Dad got a better job, so rather than stay in a static at Penna's at Holywell Bay, we went up in the world and stayed in Crantock Hotel!!! I think it has recently closed though
When I have gathered a few choices, I will run them by my friends, probably over a bottle of wine, and we can decide where to stay and plan our trip
We're down in Cornwall at the moment and recently stayed on Tower Park in our motorhome ~ lovely owners and ideally situated for all of the West of Cornwall. Within easy flat walking distance to St Buryan village, there is a pub (that does takeaway) and a Londis shop. 15 minute drive to Penzance.
Another nice little site in the far West, is Roselands in St Just. They have statics.
For further East, River Valley at London Apprentice is a lovely family owned park. We have toured and stayed in statics here ~ quiet site, small indoor pool. Close to mevagissey, St Austell, Eden Project etc.
if you dont mind haven sites,Perran Sands in perranporth is worth a look,if you are going outside of school hols,it will be quieter as well.nice site, central to where you want to look as well.
------------- it wasn't me,honestly
