Hi There,

I'm trying to organise a camp for a group of Sea Cadets in a place where they can climb, play manhunt, make rafts etc. Essentially all the kind of stuff we did as kids.

We're based in the NW so ideally the site would need to be there ...and reasonably priced - some of our kids are from quite deprived areas and I'm damned if I'm going to exclude anyone because of cost.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

J

It might be worth looking at some of the Scout campsites. Some of them do take other groups and they can be cheap. Might be worth contacting one in your local area and asking for advice. A lot of their on line info appears not to have been updated recently so may be a phone call is best!

Hope you find somewhere and they all enjoy!

How about this http://www.airevalleyscouts.org/Sconcehome1.htm - West Yorkshire and sounds ideal for your group.or http://www.wyscouts.org.uk/wysactivity/campsites.html another alternative might be one of the YHA camping barns.

Nice to see someone doing something positive for youth groups - as someone who had my first camping experience in the girl guides and went on to be involved in Scout Groups through a marching band organisation I know the difference it can make to lives.
