This is Croyde Bay, right?
I'm not sure if this info will be any good to you... a long time ago (in the 90's :-) ) we used to use the stationary caravans there a few times a year for surfing trips. I remember walking through the campsite section, and the atmosphere was "lively" to say the least. If you're after a bit of a party atmosphere, then I'd recommend it. Please do a bit more research though, I'm talking about over 15 years ago, the campsite policy may have changed (although it is a surfy village).
That whole area is really lovely, great beaches and great spots to watch the surfers, and nice walks (take an Ordnance Survey map). If your little lady refers to a child, ditch the TV - hopefully there'll be lots of kids there to make friends with, one of my favourite things about camping is that it's very sociable, especially for kids. :-)
I hope you were referring to Croyde Bay after I've just rambled on...

Hi, I've not camped at Ruda but have spent quite a bit of time in Croyde in recent years. Can highly recommend The Rock at Georgeham for lovely food, the Wild Thyme Cafe in Braunton also for lovely food, Surfing Croyde Bay for surfing lessons, walking around Baggy Point to Putsborough Sands, walking on Saunton beach and coasteering with PointBreaks. Enjoy Croyde - we absolutely love it!
