Also highly recommended by people though we didn't manage it ourselves is the boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk.
Agree about the time frame, we have been going to Skye for years and have not explored it all. The boat trip people at Elgol are Bella Jane Boat trips. The drive from Broadford to Elgol alone is worth it for the scenery alone. Magnificent!
Don't forget a trip to the Stein Inn at Waternish - the oldest Inn on Skye, right next to the bay.
Glenelg, Plockton, Lochcarron (small campsite there) and Applecross all my favourite areas on the mainland to see.
