Hi... Looking for a camp site in Yorkshire with town or village cycle ride away (cycle path or quiet roads)
Looking for easy flat rides for two adults.
Near by pubs and river would be bonus.
Are their any sites near York that anyone can recommend.
Or any sites within 2 hours of Newcastle with cycle paths close by.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Try Naburn Lock its about a mile to cycle path on quiet road and you can cycle all over York and out to Selby, this site is one of my favourites, not much else in yorkshire, canal towpath from gargrave to Barnoldwick, site on Eshton Road in Gargrave. Lots in peak district, Tissington Trail - site is Rivendale or High peak trail theres a site adjacent to that a CL, cant remember the name but have a look at all my reviews they give details, we have cycled all over the country on disuses railway lines and canal towpaths and have found sites close by, sometimes takes a bit of researching though, J x
There was an article in the C&CC's magazine about the Monsal Trail in the Peak District, and there are 4 club sites close to it, namely Ashbourne, Leek, Hayfield and Bakewell.

Hook house farm at Robin hoods bay North Yorkshire . the old railway that runs from Scarbough to whitby then theres quiot lanes in to the moor land if you dont mind the odd hill .
Fold farm near Middleton on Tees basic (tap&toilet) but lovely site on the river Tees lovely walks up to High Force . Nice pub and cafe near by . Tees Valley railway walk/cycle path just 3 miles from site(reasonably quite lane)
Then theres the Multi tude of sites next to old rail tracks in the peak district
We just did the Scarborough to whiby path last month staying at ravenscar on a CL. The path is good up to Robin hoods bay and on th Whitby but if you go the other way from ravenscar, the path is a death trap even for mountain bikes for about 2 miles but then good right into Scarborough. J x
