I have been looking around and really want to do a few nights at a pub with camping...

However... I refuse to pay the what I consider as a high fee...

I have called around a few pubs that I found on the pubs with camping search facility and don't understand how or why the pubs insist on charging £15 a night without EHU, the across the board charge (approx) is £3 extra for EHU which I can understand.

I have called around 10 pubs with camping to enquire on staying, but cannot warrant paying the ridiculous figure of £15 when there is nothing else around and the fact I would be spending a lot of money in their pub.

My thoughts on this is, if one of their customers went in had 5 pints and then slept in their car until sober, this would be free! I have been to pubs across the country and usually if you ask the landlord and have been spending in the pub, they have no issue with letting you park in their carpark overnight for FREE!

I have actually been in a situation in the past where the landlord has given me free electric!!

What are your thoughts on pubs charging £15 a night??

My outfit is a Campervan (LDV Conversion)

We've stayed at The Wharf pub and Csmpsite near Market Drayton a couple of times and they Charge £15.00 a night including hook-up.

We consider his good value, since the site has Hard-Standings, Toilet / Shower facilities and is very well maintained. Cost is subjective, and depends upon what you want / expect. There are some very cheap CS's / CL's at Pubs, and many, we wouldn't stay at, a they are quite frankly awful!

Hi ,there is The Motorhome stopover club, where you can stopover in the pubs car park .there is an yearly fee of approx £30,then you can stay for free if you buy a drink and maybe something to eat.If you do not need the luxuries of a campsite their website maybe worth a look.

If they are charging £15 per night they should provide at least basic facilities - toilet/waste disposal & fresh water.
Just a field the about £7 per night I reckon but perhaps a voucher for a part refund if buying a meal or 2.

There's one in Cornwall (name escapes me) where you can park in their car park and use the facilities for XX amount but if you buy 2 main meals in the pub restaurant they give you your pitch fee back.

The Caravan Club used to have a section in the back of their book that listed CL's at Pubs, might be worth asking if they still do this. There were often some gems there!
