I didn't realize it was under new management. I have never stayed there as it's near where we live, but we've just driven past on the way to Torquay for lunch and TBH we did comment on how it looked much better from the road.

New signage, a coat of paint and what looked like a new canopy on the entrance etc. I thought it was the David Bannatyne influence but the new management explains it.

Hi, as I said I haven't been onto the site but it is situated on the hill/cliff above Shaldon. The park probably rises from midway to the top of the hill.

I would imagine the 'top field' is what it says... Would expect you'd have fantastic views from there though!

Hi

We camped on the top field a few years ago, it was ok and the views were fantastic. The problems we had were the first pitch they gave us was so tiny we went and asked for the bigger ones which were big enough for our folding camper/awning/car and a little room for us to sit in the sun. The toilets were down hill which was ok going to them but hard work getting back. If towing dont stop at reception just go to the top field and walk back down.

This site has had some bad press but we enjoyed it and would go back if staying in that area again.

Went a few years ago on a EHU pitch with our 2 berthTrailer Tent. Opening up our curtains in the morning we were treated to fabulous 180% views. We were pitched 2 levels above the toilets and were sheltered by a small hedge.

My Brother and Friend pitched their Tent on one top field (no EHU) which was sloping and recall a little uneven on the ground, also extremely windy as it was much higher up than us.

We didn't have time to use the CS facilities, (apart from the toilets,)as we used it only as a base for walking the South West Coast Path.

We visited the CS just before they did a TV program on it about trying to persuade the Owners to do a makeover on it. (Not sure if the Owners featured on it were the Old or New Owners of the CS.) Anyone else see the TV Program ?

Lovely Scenic area, The Family Golf course down below, I think, belonged to the Campite. Can take a small Ferryboat over to Teignmouth. (Spoken - Tinmouth)

Recall there was a Zoo near to the Golf course.

Look out for the secret tunnel nearby that leads down to the beach. (Free)
