funny, they requested no reviews, just thought i would check up on it, only quite some time ago i checked this site out, and everyone to a man sl*gged it off,(hence the reason for no reviews i suppose ?) has it chaneged at all. only they have a motorbike do in july and was thinking of taking the caravan up. (wierd or what?) rolls

We live just a few miles away. We have never stayed there but often visit the Billing Mill pub on the edge of the site. After that we usually walk along the river on the edge of the site. The site looks well cared for and when big evets are on is usually heaving. Our friends stayed a couple of nights to test out the new tent and had a nice weekend. They used the amusements and the chippy. Their kids loved it. I have heard of locals getting onto the site and being a nuisance sometimes but don't know that it's a regular thing. I know they've spent a fortune on the site recently with a new swimming pool and marina. I also hear that they have stepped up security and evening patrols. Not a lot of help but some.
I had the same thoughts, we've booked for the land rover show at end of July so I'm keeping an open mind at the minute.
However one thing I do find strange is that nowhere on their website could I find the booking terms and conditions before booking.
Once we booked and paid in full they came through with the confirmation, but I'm now worried about being turned away.
I booked in to take 2 dogs nobody asked what size they were but it says small dogs on the confirmation. I also advised we normally tow using my partners work van as we can then carry back anything we buy easily and have more space for bikes etc, got told no problem but the form says sign written vans only.
So I will see what happens when we get there as I advised them of the dogs and van and wasn't asked any questions about details I will be using this as my defence if questioned on arrival. I'm probably worrying about nothing but surely allowing people to read the T and C s before booking would be a good idea

in reply i am sure i read some t and c while on their site but i could not find any info on costings for a caravan etc. i am one of those who likes to know what i am letting myself in for before it happens rolls
Be aware that there are public rights of way through the park, any remotely valuable item should be secured at night , found out to my cost that some very undesirable characters frequent the area. Site a bit pricey and liable to flooding. The toilet and shower facilities seem to have improved and every effort is made to keep them clean. The amusement/funfair area attracts the worst of the local chavs. Having said this, I have had the odd good weekend there at special events and the owners are making a genuine attempt to improve the park, it is just not the finished article yet.
We used to go regular as we are only 15 miles away but now totally avoid it.The last Landrover weekend we went on there was a guy selling used caravan water pumps. Surprise a lot of people had theirs stolen the night before, so take yours off. Also traveller site in vicinity.
