Depends where you would like to go and what you like to do?!
If you can give a bit more info, I am sure we will be able to recommend some sites for you.
I would also suggest you check out your local DA (District Association) as they organise meets for members which gives you access to some great fun and some very cheap camping (usually very basic facilities - fresh water and chemical disposal point)
Graffham in West Sussex is possibly my favourite campsite.
It's a woodland site, very peaceful, showers/toilets plentiful and very clean and great for kids as they can have great games in the woods. The pitches are quite secluded, many in their own little clearing. There's loads of birdlife and lovely walks that start from your tent door.
For kids, there's lots to do in the area. You're not far from the coast, the river and castle at Arundel, Roman villa at Fishbourne, wonderful open-air museum at Singleton, and there are often events at nearby Goodwood. Chichester, Petworth and Midhurst are nice towns worth a stroll round and there are lots of historic houses around too.
The only downside to the site is that you can't have barbecues because of the fire risk.
We love Certificated Sites and have 2 children, well one 10 yo and a teenager. We are tenters so always pick ones with toilet and shower facilities. We have been to 4 CSs so far and all have been good. They are also good value too.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

And not just your local DA - look through the Temporary Holiday Sites listing at the back of the magazine (though as Helen suggests, check what facilities are available). Nearly all meets and THSs are available to all members irrespective of DA, any many don't need advance booking.
Probably most of the sites I like will be too far north for you but a particular favourite is Culzean castle. It's right in the grounds of the castle and so if you are a member of the NT or NTS you can just wander down and see what's going on. Loads of other great things to see in the area.
There are also beaches within a short drive and shopping to be done in Ayr.
Site itself has views over to Arran and is always kept spotlessly clean.
We love the Windermere C&CC Site. Been there loads. Also quite like Teversal, they have fab showers, although not much within walking distance. Keswick is also very nice, be beware of the flooding!
Wasnt too keen on Oswestry, bit too quiet and also Troutbeck, but we went there in torrential, and I mean torrential rain, and it didn't stop all weekend!!
Bala is also quite nice.

I agree with 4mitchells and love the CS sites (certified sites). They are generally small sites (max 5 caravans and 5/10 tents) as they are run by landowners and families. Facilities can vary dramatically from just a field and nothing else to full facilities including toilets, showers and eclectic hook up. They are generally quite cheap with pitch only prices from £10-£15 night. You can find some real gems and it’s part of the fun of trying them.
They will not appeal to everyone and if you are expecting to find a clubhouse and pool they definitely won’t be for you. Although you could find a local family friendly pub and the owners may have a private pool you could use!
If you think a CS site might appeal to you, my top tip is to search for a local CS site close to you and go and have a look. Generally the site owners are really friendly and I’m sure they won’t mind you having a look around; after all you could be future customers! At least this way you can gauge if it is the sort of site you are willing to try. You can search for local CS sites close to you by using the C&CC website just make sure you tick only CS (certified sites) on the search. Also add showers and toilets on the facilities list
If the above sounds like camping hell then the C&CC sites are generally really nice with good clean facilities.
They have fab items in most areas, depending on you tastes. If you let us know wgphat you look for in a site, for example, campfires, small, full facilities or basic, then we can give you some recommendations.
