We heading down to Portsmouth for 2 weeks next month, from Yorkshire. We have been considering travelling through the night to avoid traffic/hold ups but site does not have late night arrivals area, only ferry pitches which they wont use, understandably. Does anyone have any ideas where we could stop for the morning or other suggestions? Thanks.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I really don't think that you would have a problem with travel. I used to live just outside Pompey and elder daughter went to York University. Never had any trouble and it took a consistent 6 hours in the motorhome.
We generally took the M1 to Leicester, M69 to Coventry, A46 to Warwick, M40 towards Oxford, joined the A34 to Winchester and then you have a choice of the M3 / M27 or the A272 / A3(M).
You may have everything planned, but if you want any ideas about Portsmouth, I still might remember a few places to go. Where are you staying - Rookesbury Park?

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Thanks Capt! I know Portsmouth and area well, used to live down there too. Yes we are going to Rookesbury. We are booked in for the saturday so could leave early morning. I guess it would take us, towing, more than 6 hrs.
