Supposed to be going to Aviemore on Saturday. Due to life's stresses I just want TO GO so think we might leave on Friday. Looking for a small site or safe stopover for an overnight on Friday, halfway between Ayrshire and Aviemore. I think we take the A9 (at work so dont have hubby to confirm!).

Thaks folks, i have booked a site on the river Tummel -Ardgualich Farm for the overnight. Quite excited about it really as we passed it many years ago and fancied trying it - then forgot all about it. This is our chance.

Blair Castle is another I intend to try out sometimes. Will check out Noahs Ark for the future, and tried Faskally once before, didnt lke it, a bit too "happening" for me! Thanks again to all.

Hi feeblecat. Hope you both have a great time. Which site are you staying on in Aviemore? We just came back from Aviemore yesterday. It is one of my favourite parts of the country. There is so much to see and do and lots to look at if you just want to relax.

The weather was much better than we expected. Only had one episode of very heavy rain and it was evening time which is allowed. Remember your midge spray. The wee blighters were out in full force.
