No I haven't book, and don't think I'm going to if it is going to super busy. I was remembering nostaligic family holidays when I was little and thought it might be nice to take the children. However I might wait until low season for that one.
To be honest it depends upon whereabouts in the Lake District you want to go ? Ambleside, Windermere etc can get quite busy, Ullswater, Coniston etc, less so. In the more popular touristy places, you may struggle to find a site at short notice in peak season as well. Whereabouts exactly were you thinking of as the Lake District is a bit vague for those of who live here, there are LOTS of lakes lol
I don`t need to think, I know there is only one lake, the rest are meres, waters or tarns, BUT after many years of living here and spending countless hours of explaining that to people, I have long since come to the conclusion that it`s easier when people ask about `the lakes` to reply about `the lakes`, rather than continually correcting them. The time saved can be spent enjoying our wonderful summer
