Just looked at Polmanter - excellent website but how expensive????
But I'm really not expecting that much detail out of a website - just some pictures of the actual campsite as opposed to the surrounding area.
I can't see how that would have to add too much to the pitch fee.
And I've just paid £38 per night for a campsite with a rubbish website - based on reviews on here and googlemaps. So maybe a little bit of that £38 could be spent on half a dozen decent pictures.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

We too like to have an idea of what the Campsite is like before we arrive 100by100, but many don't have websites, so no photos either,  even when 'Googled'  from above unless you can see the units on the pitches clearly, it can be difficult to pin point which field the Csite uses, but it does give an idea of the surounding area.

If you can't find any photos of the C.site at all try dragging that little Yellow Google Man (or whatever it's called) down onto the road and have a nosey into the C.sites main entrance and alongside the sometimes low hedges and see if you can spot the Campers, that's what we often do.         (Sad People )

It also helps to see how narrow the country lanes might be for towing our Folding camper.

Bernie i can see your point about costings etc but in this day and age everyone has access to internet, most sites i have visited i have booked via email. It wouldnt take a site much to create a facebook page with images on or another networking site, also websites have become a lot cheaper.

I think the use of Bing and Google earth is a good idea and i also visit some other websites with reviews such as trip advisor, but UKcampsite is by far the best.

The good thing is that we can help out here by taking photographs whenever we stay at a site and post them on Flickr. I agree that some camp sites own pictures are pretty naff. I found the best pics of a site I am going to next month for the first time on there, taken by a customer.

The quality of some website surprises me, we have had online booking for 5 years now and there are some larger parks in the area that don't have that. I know of 1 park in our area which has lots of reviews and positive recommendations on UKCS but they dont have a website at all, not sure how they manage.

We are looking to re-skin our group of websites this winter, so would be interested to know of any likes/dislikes that you see in a website.
