I would appreciate any comments from campers, caravaners and site owners. I live in newcastle and have got the second week in august off we would like to drag he c,van out but looking at the..... Weather.....how are sites faring? Near to or further afield as we havnt booked anything yet peoples experiences welcome. Worried we will turn up to a site thats wet and just churn it up with the already sodden ground. Thanks for any replies.

Hi 36osh,
We too were worried regarding the weather and took a chance. We are on a cc site in Corwen Wales, been here since Sat.
It is a 35 van site but only 4 vans on at the moment. The grass is good for drainage no mud. We have had rain and last night it did rain quite a lot. Today its been lovely it did rain for about 10 mins and that was light rain. We had a Barbecue earlier, no rain and the evenings are lovely. All i can say is look at the weather and take a chance. We are off to Angelsey on Sat for a few days. Its better than staying home we are so relaxed away from the rat race.

Hi 36kosh
We are a small 40 pitch adult only site in Lincolnshire and have coped pretty feel with the weather. All our pitches have hardstanding for the van with grass for the awning or tent. We have had a few tents, caravans and motorhomes in over the last week or so and no mud.
------------- A tranquil 5 star, adult only caravan touring park near Boston, with 40 level all weather pitches. Holiday cottage also available.

Just to point out we Stayed at Orchard Park in May, Boston lincolnshire, we had previously stayed here twice before but Camping. On those occasions the weather was good to us and we had no problems with the site, there is a fishing lake on it and o/h did the fishing. In may it was a different story we booked for 5 nights . It never stopped raining and because there was no Hardstanding we was on Grass. it was totally horrible the Car was stuck in mud the Van we tried to move but that was not possible. We put the Awning up just for two days as the Breathable Awning was just a puddle of water. We left a day earlier , the owners did not seem bothered. We wont go there again as if we knew the site was going to be so bad we would not of gone. They did not inform us of the state of the site. There are lots of sites in Lincolnshire , but this one is not going to get our business.
