An announcement via a link on the CC website details pitches withdrawn due to the wet weather. Large number of sites affected.

Tried to book in at Treamble Valley today. Apparently no problem from Sunday but wanted Saturday also so rang site direct to see if any last minute vacancies. The warden said don't bother booking on line at all because I will be ringing you back to cancel the booking because of the state of the grass pitches which were the only one's still available.

Managed to get in at Trewethett Farm at Tintagel however no problem with the pitches there.

According to foreccast weather looks to be bucking up from Sunday.

I have a 10 night booking from next Thurday on one of the affected sites. What complicates it for me is that the wife's parents are booked into a local B&B at the same time to spend some time with us.

Just phoned up the site now and the warden was less than helpfull.

Have arrived at Merrose farm CC Site today for a seven night stay.

The warden has closed a few grass pitches and is putting vans onto the grass pitches with his tractor. Apparently to stop cars etc damaging the grass which although wet [its raining here] are not too bad.

We were lucky as we were able to get a hardstanding pitch when we arrived.

The CC are no longer listing the sites that have pitches out of use, and the page has been changed to the following........

Due to the prolonged inclement weather we are experiencing, some sites may be affected, but because the problems are so localised, it's very difficult to be specific.

With the exception of Tewkesbury Abbey, which is closed until 15 July, all sites are open but may be experiencing some water logged pitches. This is being managed by the wardens on site and members will be contacted if in the unlikely event they cannot accept all arrivals. Unless you hear from us please turn up as normal.
