We're looking to camp in Dorset in mid August and am undecided between Wareham Forest and The Inside Park.
I like clean, well organised campsites with large pitches and can't bear to be on top of your neighbour!
I've got two children - 12 and 7. Which one would anyone recommend?!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Do you get large pitches at Wareham Forest then because the photos made the tents look quite close together? We don't have EHU so can apparently opt for the woodland pitches??? Aaarrghhh I'm so fussy about getting it just right!!!

Never stayed there in a tent, but my sister has. The only thing that might sway it for you is midges - as it's forest based it can be prone to midges. It wouldn't put me off the site though as it's a top site and they've just re-done their shower blocks and they are fab. Check out the photos on their facebook page.
I've stayed at both these campsites and they are both lovely.
We have stayed at Wareham both in August and also out of the school holidays. In June we had a massive area all to ourselves and loved it. The facilities are excellent - best loos and showers I've experienced at a campsite so far. But in August it's a bit more pot luck as there are no marked out pitches. In amongst the trees you might get a bit more space, but there's no guarantee you'll get a spot. If you do end up choosing Wareham I would recommend staying away from the main field at the top, and try the smaller area directly behind the pool.
The inside park on the other hand does have marked out pitches so at least you would be guaranteed a spot. We stayed there in May so there was not a lot of people there but it seemed that it wouldn't seem overcrowded when full. We stayed in the woodland bit (pitch 85 - non hook up and very tucked in) which did have some nice tucked away pitches and was generally flat whereas the open area is on more of a slope. The toilets and showers are ok but not quite up to the standard of Wareham, however the playground at Inside Park is amazing so if you're going with kids they would love it.
They are both really nice sites so I don't think you'd be disappointed with either of them to be honest. Maybe check with Inside Park just to see which pitches they might have available and then you'll have a better idea. Personally I think with it being school holidays, of the two I'd probably go for Inside Park, just because it takes the worry out of having to find a suitable pitch when you arrive, but if you get a chance to do Wareham Forest out of school hols then I think you would love it.
