.... A camp site that has plenty for kids to do if weather not too good?

As our first camping trip was a success we've been biten by the camping bug & would like to try & fit in at least 2 more trips this year. Any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We have 3 active kids aged 3, 7 (nearly 8) & 9.

Not what I would normally suggest but "Haven" sites always have lots of things to do but probably a bit late to get booked

Kelling Heath in Norfolk is fantastic - Cromer nearby for the beach, kids activities on site, and a decent pub with a soft play area on site

Went to Haven, Mablethorpe, last week to "break our cherry" & it was fantastic17. Looking for something different now, Norfolk sounds good, but if I'm honest I'd like to keep closer to home...just in case, then go further afield next year. (when I've got a towbar fitted & have a trailer.....17).

similar to haven sites are butlins & park resorts, I have used a few park resorts because they offer great value for money AND you can use your tesco clubcard vouchers too. Just be warned they seem to be geared more toward the statics and the camping facilities ie toilets & showers aren't as clean as I would expect, take along a shower mat, bath mat and folding chair and it isn't too bad.

We're off to Ruda .. a Parkdean place in Croyde ... they have a big touring area (as do other some other Parkdeanresorts)

Ruda is right on the beach, so sandcastles and body boarding if weather good, kids clubs and indoor pool if it's not!

Might try one of the park resorts (have a healthy loathing of Butlins17). Ruda is now on the list for next year17.

What are farm camp sites like?

The secret garden in wisbech is great and the kids loved it over jubilee weekend, they have a table tennis table set up in a 'day room' along with a couch & live nature cam feed to a tv in there. Enough going on to keep children occupied for a few days even with the great british weather we had but I'm not sure about any longer than a few days of it.

hi, been to a few park resorts and agree they are good value for money, usually have pool, play area, kids clubs and usually close to a beach. find them not as commercial as butlins and even haven, and true touring/camping facilities do seem to be not as good as statics they seem to be making improvements every year tho! we have twins age 7 and 14 yr old. enjoy your hols!! :0)

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1454 this group of 4 sites are great and have lots for the kids to do. you can go from site to site on their yellow bus or down to the beach (think the charge was about £1 each).

It depends what you and your kids are into....mine love farm sites, and if there's a stream to paddle in we're sorted! Unless it's a really tiny site, there will be other kids to play with and you won't see the older ones for ages!

Arsenaldes you of all people should know, I lived in N'pton.....why the hell would I holiday there? That & the fact the mother in law now lives on the Aquadrome17.

Searles is a possibility for the end of August, as we class Sunny Hunny as our local beach,

Have looked into Tynxuk suggestion & have booked 3 nights at the Secret Garden in Wisbekistan17. Rang the owners & they sounded genuinely nice & very helpful & at £10 a night inc EHU, couldn't turn that down.
