Hi all

Wondering if anyone can recommend some camp sites that accept rallies!

I own a motorbike forum and we have an annual meet up our usual place has been a big let down this year the venue is great but the staff is a right let down

Anyway what I'm looking for is a site big enough for around 70 people up to 50 tents, allows you to take your own alcohol on site, toilet and shower block and a function room we can hire!

I know its a lot to ask but there must be somewhere out there

Oh ideally pretty central in the country like Derbyshire area

Thanks in advance

There is a site near Worksop that's not too far from Derbyshire that has a 5 van C&CC certificated site, but at the back is a large rally field with a hall for hire. Many caravan clubs hold their AGM meetings there and although there are toilets on site with the building I'm not sure if there is a shower. It may be the ideal place if they accept motor cycles but you could contact them via the link below and see what their response is.

Not sure about the own alcohol issue, you would have to ask, as they run a licenced bar themselves, but in every other aspect the Lumb Farm at Marehay near Ripley, Derbyshire maybe just what you are looking for, and they have run motorbike rallies in the past and have the piccies up in the bar to prove it.

They also do B&B, meals and catering for functions, or just room hire for enthusiasts groups, line dancing, clay shoots, aerobics ect. as far as im aware the toilet facilities and showers are part of the main complex, and the camping is open to groups booking the function rooms and facilities only, but for that reason it is fairly priced, and can be free if you buy a catered function package. our daughter got married there last year, and loved it.

Julia

ps, I have just remebered that they let us take our own wine last year for the meal, but did charge us a corkage fee or around a fiver per bottle for providing the glasses ect, but it still worked out cheaper than them providing it for us.

National watersports centre at Nottingham seem suitable.
When we camped there, there was an area of EHU pitches, then a field for tents, then a further field where various groups seemed to be having fun.

You could try Stratford on Avon racecourse. We've had a rally on there with about 28 vans but I don't know whether they'd take 50-odd motorbikes. Worth asking though.

They have a couple of different rooms you can hire.

Peak Gateway has a large field that we have just camped on for a yearly event. There was about 180 tents at the event we went to and a marquee had been put up but I am not sure if that was the site or the event organisers.

Not quite central but Brieghton ferry hosts loads of bikers rallies, its a pub site with plenty of room, its near Selby Give the landlord a ring I am sure he will sort something out for you.

Clean showers and toilets, pub on site with a few different rooms and the landlord is laid back.

The best time to catch someone around at Lumb farm is when the bar is open lol, try ringing them on a Sunday around lunchtime when the owner is usually there serving up lunches, or between 6pm and 10pm on a week night when they are running the line dancing and aerobics classes and ask to speak to Angela or the manager if shes not around.

It really is a nice place and very easy to get to as its fairly central to the motorway network, and an added bonus is its only a 15min ride away to Matlock Bath and their regular Sunday biker gatherings along the prominade of the bath itself, we love looking at the super machines all lined up in their highly polished glory.

If you do manage to book in to Lumb farm and need any further help or local information I would be happy to help if im around as I live just a couple of miles up the road in Belper

Hi Stutls, can you post your website details ? ( what part of the country are you based.) We have never been camping with the bike as it's a sports bike so difficult for carrying the gear, but may be in a position soon to consider a 2nd bike that would be suitable so we could join in the bikers camping rallies.
