If youre looking for a decent beach for the kids I would go Woolacombe rather than Ilfracombe

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
Click on the 'Camp Site Search' at the top of the page & enter Woolacombe - it will come up with all the sites within a radius of Woolacombe. What sort of site do you like? Little Meadow just outside Ilfracombe, nr Combe Martin, is a lovely quiet basic site. Great sea views, well maintained and laid out pitches. Tunnels beach in Ilfracombe is fab for rock pooling with the kids.

Woolacombe offers the better beach, it's huge and offers plenty of room for all.
Warcombe Farm is a nice site (but won't be cheap).
I agree about Little Meadow site if you're heading Ilfracombe way. A teeny bit further inland is Stowford Meadows site near Coombe Martin, big site but close to beaches.
We have stayed at woolacombe bay in a tent, lovely camping field with lovely shower block.
Warcombe farm, again really nice and private pitches with a great shower block.
Hidden valley near illfracombe, lovely site.
Stowford meadows, nice site but massive.
This was all a few years ago but we returned to warcombe farm and it was still lovely, however having looked at the prices now ! Wow!
We considered going back to stow ford purely due to their out of season offers !
I will do reviews for these !

We stayed at Woolacombe Bay two weeks ago, nice site, clean and tidy, loads for the kids to do and walking distance to the beach, although it's a big hill back.
As said, it isn't the cheapest site, but you will not be bored. It also gives you access to the other three sites so there is always plenty to do.
The best positioned site near Woolacombe is North Morte Farm - check here spectacular views from site over the Bristol Channel. Handy beach close by at Rockham Bay and nice walks along the coastal path to Morte Point, Woolacombe ann Lee Bay.

Woolacome Bay Sites are great and Woolacombe has the most amazing beach. We stayed at Twitcham Park and they have a wonderful new shower block. Just a short walk to the beach but a very steep hill to climb on the way back. We've been the last two years and we would tend to walk down to the beach and catch the open top bus back. When we stayed at Twitchen Park we also had access to Easewell Farm, The Golden Coast and Woolacombe Bay. Each park has something different to offer and I would highly recommend them. Ifracombe is beautiful and a short drive away and Clovelly is a little further but well worth the journey!!!
this group of 4 sites have lots to offer, you can use the facilites on all 4 sites. plus there is a yellow bus you can pay a small feee to catch to the beach.

Another vote for Little Meadow near Ilfracombe - as long as it's not too windy! (read my review).
Nice quiet site with lovely views. No entertainment but my kids entertain themselves. Takes about 20 minutes to drive from there to Woolacombe for the beach.
