I must have read a thousand reviews and am going round in circles. Can anyone help with a recommendation? We would like to go to Cornwall and do Heligan in particular. We are looking for a simple campsite with a children's playground and perhaps a little shop. I seem to be able to find places with pools and entertainment - or completely basic field and a shower places. We're after something in the middle. Can anyone help? Please? :-)

Not "clubby" at all. Family run park. Adventure playground, shop, takeaway and outdoor pool. Ideal for exploring lovely beaches/coves close by (Gorran Haven, Caerhayes Beach, Mevagissey). Plus within easy reach of St Austell, Truro & the rest of Cornwall.
I haven't stayed there myself, but in my shortlist is a site called Eden Valley which looked really lovely and very reasonably priced and had a great looking playground. I think it's in the right part of Cornwall for you - near St Austell
I'd go to Tregarton Park. tregarton park
Very friendly helpful owners. Decent playground. Pool but no club. they have a small shop and takeaways (very good) in high season.
Just up the road from Heligan. Great beaches nearby.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have left an enquiry with Eden, but Tregarton Park is fully booked up. We are doing this rather last minute so it is all our own fault - but we had hoped with some places reporting lower numbers than usual that we would find somewhere as we will have left before the bank holiday weekend. I'll keep trying!
Been to Tregarton 3 times and really enjoy the site but it does seem isolated if you dont want to drive. Just got back from a site in London Apprentice called Rivervalley that has no club , it does have a pool which we used often and is really good, it also has a childs play area with a zip wire swing from one end to the other and a small games room and an internet room. Over the road is a small general store and it is about 2 miles away from an asda superstore.
Hi
I can recommend Treveague Farm, which is in Gorran Haven,it has a playground shop, with the secret garden, this is a lovely site, hope this helps

We stayed at Sun Valley at Mevegissy although it has a club, its only small and does basic food. Also its away from the touring/camping area. Great play area and there was lots of room when we were there but that was during an october.
What about Seaview International at Gorran. We went there in a few years ago and it was brilliant. No club but pub in Gorran served very nice food, nice walks, beaches were great and just around the corner from Heligan
